Virtual Mechanics WebDwarf V2 is a drag and drop WYSIWYG editor. Click on any component and move and stretch it with your mouse. You can also use the arrow keys while holding the Alt or Ctrl keys to rotate and stretch.

New Features Available in WebDwarf V2, SiteSpinner V2, and Web Engine V2

1.  Support for SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)


Significant support for SVG has been added to provide the majority of features that are available for Dynamic HTML in SVG. Several features that are exclusive to SVG have also been added. Although SVG is extensively supported through the Adobe viewer, SVG and the viewer are still in development. Additional features and functional support for SVG will we added as the standards and viewers are enhanced.

2. Vector Geometry

An Extensive number of new vector editing enhancements have been added. These include:

  • A movable Origin for rotations and scaling
Available in Web Engine V2
  • A new Path tool that provides the ability to combine Vectors, Rectangles, Ellipses and Quadratic Bezier B-Splines into a single Geometry component
  • An enhanced Vertex Editor with extrude capabilities to generate complex extruded Polygon and Path geometry
  • A new Merge tool on the Align toolbar to merge multiple geometry components into a single path geometry component
3. Shading

Extensive enhancements have been added to the Shading editor. These include:
  • Linear shading
  • Radial Shading
  • Transparency
  • An editable shading vector to set the origin and direction of shading (available in SiteSpinner V2 and Web Engine V2)
4. The Text Editor

The Text editor has undergone significant enhancements to provide additional formatting capabilities, a spell checker, a link editor, additional Rich Text to HTML and SVG conversions and many other text editing capabilities.

5. Visual Table Editor (available in SiteSpinner V2 and Web Engine V2)

A new visual Table editor has been added to provide the ability to create HTML tables in a visual mode and display them in either HTML and to simulate them in SVG.

6. Rendering

Enhancements have been added to the visual rendering engine to display shaded and transparent Objects in the Visual Editor.
  • For published HTML projects, shading for vector geometry is supported through enhanced support for PNG. To achieve transparency and anti-aliasing, the Rendering Engine will render all Geometry into the background. The ability to individually export vector geometry in PNG, JPG, GIF or BMP formats has been provided through the Geometry Editor
  • The SVG format fully supports vector geometry, shading and transparency so that converting vector graphics to a bitmap file is not necessary.
7. Re-rendering

The rendering engine renders Text and re-renders Images to add shading, transparency and Anti-Aliasing. When the thumbnail switch is set, images are re-rendered at their display size making the creation of thumbnail images a snap.

8. Publishing

Additional enhancements for the Publisher have been added, including auto-backup, a Gather function to gather up all images and components associated with the Project. And the ability to remove unwanted files from the server.
