A Brief History of Virtual Mechanics
Virtual Mechanic's head office
Virtual Mechanics has been developing award-winning software products since 1998, though our roots stretch back much further.

Our founder -- Steve White -- started a number successful high-tech companies over the last 25 years, including Canada's first computer animation company -- Vertigo Graphics. In 1984 he founded Neo-Visuals Inc., one of the first commercial 3D graphics software companies in the world. Neo-Visuals' technology was sold to SAS Institute, and after a stint as the founding President of SAS Canada, Steve took time off to pursue his other passions -- his family and sailing. Animation was his calling however and in the mid 90's he was back developing software to put interactive vector graphics on the Web.

Steve passed away in 2002, but not before ensuring that Virtual Mechanics had a dedicated, committed group of people in place to carry on his vision.
